Technical capabilities
• The SnapTV Hotel IPTV system supports both High Definition and Standard Definition broadcast signals
• The SnapTV Hotel IPTV system carries TV signals in their original digital format to the in-room terminals
• The SnapTV Hotel IPTV system performs no transcoding/re-encoding of audio or video signal, thereby avoiding any degradation to audio or video quality from source material
• The SnapTV Hotel IPTV system supports both MPEG-2 and MPEG-4/AVC (H.264) video compression.
• The SnapTV Hotel IPTV system supports legacy TVs through industry standard open IP set-top boxes.
• The SnapTV Hotel IPTV system is open and not tied to any particular fabricate of settop boxes or TVs
• The SnapTV Hotel IPTV system is operated by one remote control.
• The SnapTV Hotel IPTV system can be deployed to TVs with embedded IPTV modules in sizes 26, 32, 37 and 42 inches.
• The SnapTV Hotel IPTV menu system and is based on open standards and Web technologies, such as XHTML, Javascript, CSS and Ajax and can be changed and customized by system integration partners.
Requirements summary
The SnapTV Hotel IPTV Solution described in this document supports;
• Freely selectable TV channels from up to 12 DVB-S2 transponders
• DVB Common Interface support for each DVB-S2 transponder
• Interactive HotelTV portal
• Video on demand solution - 4TB gross storage in RAID-5
• Web-based setup of transponders and channels
• Link to existing “Hotel” PMS system (need supplier and version information!)
• Monitoring and Control (Optional)
• Installation, setting up, travel, testing and commissioning (Optional)
The SnapTV Hotel IPTV solutions works on a standard LAN using existing wiring (CAT 5/6/7)
and IP infrastructure.
Proposed Solution
The Offered solution consists of
- 1x SnapTV GW 360GBPX Maxi base, with configured as follows:
o 12 DVB-S/S2 inputs
o 12 DVB Common Interface
o Web-based setup of transponders and channels
o SnapTV DVB to IPTV Software
- 1x SnapTV GW 360GBPX Combo/VOD server configured as follows:
o 4TB RAID for VOD Repository
o SnapTV VOD Kit Hospitality
o Internal hotel channel (video loop)
- 1x SnapTV HotelTV server unit configured as follows:
o SnapTV HotelTV Software
o SnapTV Opera Fidelio PMS Link
The SnapTV HotelTV VOD server supports up to 320 Mbit/s movie playout, corresponding to 70 individual unicast playbacks at 4,5 Mbit/s simultaneously. The solution will have a storage capacity of approximately 1000 hours of movies. Playout capacity of 50 simultaneous streams and a recoding capacity of 5 channels simultaneously. Gateways will be supplied with Dual redundant power supplies and dual GbE ports.
The SnapTV servers are 4U height 19” rack mountable.
SnapTV Hotel portal
The SnapTV HotelTV Portal uses web technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript and AJAX). This allows for easy adaptation of the SnapTV Portal to the Hotel’s wanted graphical profile/look and feel.
The SnapTV HotelTV Portal also comes with a web-based tool to add local information such as local attractions, hotel services etc.
The SnapTV HotelTV Portal uses advanced design technology to ensure optimal speed and user response. This allows the SnapTV Portal to run conveniently on cost-effective industry standard IPTV set-top boxes.
